After the American KKR investment fund bought the parent group GfK Group, it decided to reduce the number of countries in which the agency operates. This means that the company\u2019s global operations will concentrate on specialized services, and changes in Croatia and the Adriatic region are a consequence of this change. <!--more--><br \/>\nThe CEO of the Croatian and Slovenian GfK, Mr Igor Matutinovi\u0107, stated that the GfK will continue to provide two types of service in Croatia: the \u201chousehold panel\u201d, a continuous survey of household purchasing habits of retail consumer goods which the GfK conducts for 17 years in a row now, and surveys related to retail sales of technical brands. But it will abandon ad hoc surveys, such as social surveys, surveys of the banking sector or quick surveys in retail. The company intends to conclude all open contracts of these and other surveys in 2018. According to Matutinovi\u0107, this decision may still change if need be. This also means that the company intends to reduce the number of employees, but no numbers have been made public so far.<br \/>\nThe company stated that the change is not related to any specifics of the Croatian market, but rather to technological changes in surveying markets and consumers. AI and other technologies of automatic data collection are forcing changes and the GfK expects the whole industry to change over the next five years.
