Unpaid Salaries – Thing of the Past?

The Tax Administration reported that the number of companies that did not pay their employees in 2017 went down by 19% compared to 2016, and by 73% compared to 2014 when 10,072 employers did not pay 41,271 employees.
According to the TA, in 2017 a total of 2,762 companies did not show payment of salaries for 9,791 employee. This is 19% less companies, and 8% less affected workers. The number of employers not paying their workers keeps getting less and less each year. So in 2015, the number of companies went 26% down, and the number of affected employees went down a staggering 37%. In 2016, these numbers were again halved, with 54% less non-paying companies and 59% less of the affected employees. The TA publishes the complete list every quarter, including all employers that have not paid their employees for three months in a row, or that have paid only the contributions for any three months in a six-month period.
