The City of Pula seems to be edging closer to a new cruiser terminal in the Port of Pula, expected to cost more than €100 million, which would enable the port to receive up to two hundred cruisers and half a million passengers more per year.
The Head of Pula Port Authority, Mr Donald de Gravisi, told the press that the PA received an opinion of the Ministry of Finance on the project of construction of passenger terminal on the Guc part of the Port, prepared in collaboration with the Ministry of Transport. This is a part of the procedure where all ministries concerned have to clear the project. Now the PA needs to prepare a five-year investment plan.
In addition, the PA was granted EUR 65,000 to conduct sea bed research, needed to determine the exact kind of pier that needs to be constructed.
The construction of the pier is expected to cost between EUR 50 and 75 million, depending on the type of construction resulting from this study. But the total cost of construction of all facilities could come up to EUR 120-150 million, depending on various factors.
