Ministry of Demography, Family, Youth and Social Policy presented a project on “improvement of services to children in early and pre-school care and education”. The project is aimed at supporting combination of family and working life by enhancing services provided by kindergartens and extending their working hours, hiring new and training existing staff, and developing new programs.

The total value of the project is Kn 300 million, financed by the European Social Fund. Grants will be provided to kindergartens and local self-governments, to improve position of working families with pre-school children. It will also generate new employment for about 500 to 700 kindergarten teachers and other staff.

Grants will range from Kn 0.5 million to Kn 15 million, and the duration of the project is 24-30 months from signing of the grant agreement.
